We are looking forward to another great summer of Saturday Races this year, with our first race starting on July 5 (same day as Kettles BBQ!!)
As usual, check the web site for the latest information on Race dates, location and post race get together location. If you interested in a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon, contact Doug Clark and get on the mailing list, or just show up. All are welcome!! We sail mostly lasers and albacores, but all types welcome.

Race Start Time:   3:00 p.m.

Skippers Meeting:     Usually at starting line.

Annual Fees: included with Kettles Membership

Starting Procedure:  5 minute horn (Kettles Flag Up), 4 minute horn (blue flag up), 1 minute horn (blue flag down), and start horn (Kettles flag down)

Location Notes: East Bay location race may be in North Bay (and visa versa) depending on winds

Rain Date: (if no wind, or poor weather on race day, then race will be on Sunday)

RACE RULES

  • 360 RULE
    a 360 (one tack and one jibe) is required if you hit a mark
     

  • 720 RULE
    a 720 is required (two tacks and two jibes) if you foul another boat.
    Typical causes of fouls is the obvious port-starboard infractions. The other main case is buoy room. A boat that has an inside overlap is entitled to buoy room. This boat is between a buoy and another boat and with its bow ahead of the stern of the other boat, when they are within two boat lengths of the buoy
